MONTENEGRO:

Montenegro located in Southern Europe, is one of the newest countries in the world having gained its independence from Serbia in 2006. This small country of 14.000 km2, approximately the size of Wales, has a population of only 670,000. Montenegro's native name, Crna Gora, literally translates to "black mountain" or "black forest". Montenegro is one of the last undiscovered secrets, a country of medieval towers, ancient villages, rare beauty and artistic values, a country where 15% of its territory is under UNESCO protection. Montenegro is also known as a land of “6 continents”.

The geographical position of the country, a coastline of almost 300 km and a huge assortment of cultural, historical and natural treasures such as soaring mountains, deep valleys and glaciers make Montenegro one of the most beautiful countries in the Mediterranean. Such diversity of untouched nature on such a small terrain makes Montenegro a unique country. The government is very keen to pursue 2 goals; stimulating tourism growth and increasing its attractiveness as an EU candidate. With EU membership projected for 2014, and EU funds allocated to improve infrastructure, the looks likely to continue the strong 6% GDP growth of recent years. The Government have a very clear vision for the economic growth of Montenegro which is evident all ready in their intelligent taxation with corporate tax running at 9% and income tax at 15% and with the Government confirming that they will have all taxes at a flat rate of 9% by 2012.This demonstrates stability, both economic and political.
The creation of these conditions in economic growth allows capital growth which in turn gives investor’s huge growth. For the second year the world Trade and Tourism council report which is compiled by 150 of the top CEOS in the business world have ranked Montenegro as the number one destination in Europe for the next ten years and ranked it number two in the world, an excellent signal to the rental potential of suitable properties. 2004 saw 500,000 tourists, 800,000 throughout 2005 and 1,850,000 in 2006. Since Montenegro became an Independent republic in 2006, leading International business and private high worth individuals have contributed enormous foreign investment to this emerging economic giant.

In Montenegro there are 2 International airports: Podgorica and Tivat. Airport Podgorica located 11km from the capital of Montenegro.
