Tivat the jewel of Montenegro bordering Croatia has some of the most fantastic and stunning scenery to be found anywhere in Europe and just a short distance too many picture postcard towns. A short drive through picturesque countryside you will reach the ancient town of Kotor with panoramic views over the Adriatic sea.
Tivat is the newest and smallest municipality in the Bay of Kotor and only began to grow and develop as an urban centre at the end of the nineteenth century. Even though it is only 46 km2 and has a population of approx 13.000, the size and youth of this beautiful town in no way reduce its importance.
If you look deeply into the map of the world and try to find the centre, Montenegro will be closest to that point. It is the spot from which you can go to any European destination. In Montenegro there are 2 International airports: Podgorica and Tivat. Also there is International airport of Cilipi located in Dubrovnik (Republic of Croatia) in near vicinity of Montenegro (Cilipi to the border of Montenegro is only 16 km).
