Pizzo is one of the most well-known towns of the Vibo Valentia province on the western coast of Calabria. At the centre of Pizzo is La Piazza Repubblica a popular meeting point with the locals known as, Salotto or the living room, from here you can look down over rooftops to the attractive marina, beautiful white sandy beach, and crystal clear waters below. Vibo Valentia is not just an important historical and cultural centre, it also has a substantial attractive marina with berths for yachts, and tourist trips to the Aeloian Islands. The harbour is filled with vibrant cafes, bars, and restaurants offering the wonderful local cuisine. On a clear day from the tallest point of Vibo Valentia you can see the Sila Mountains to the north and the peak of Mount Etna on Sicily to the south.
