About Cape Verde
The stunning islands of Cape Verde are surrounded by blue seas and fringed with broad white sandy beaches. The group of ten largely undiscovered tropical islands offer a superb all year climate, hospitable people and is economical stable. Yet this sleepy hide away, cut off from the real world is only 1 hour south of the Canary Islands and 3 degrees warmer.
The horizon is decorated with Rhododendrons, fir trees and corn plants while whales, dolphins, turtles and yellow fin tuna coexist with the coral in the clear water around the shores. Largely hilly and lush, some of the islands are quite flat, with white sand as far as the eye can see. This former Portuguese colony rich in Mediterranean, Latin and African influence benefits from thoughtful development and environmental conservation mapped as part of the grand plan to introduce its 'real paradise' to the world.
There are many private health clinics, dentistry clinics and pharmacies in Cape Verde. There is a telecommunications infrastructure which includes broadband. There is also a mobile network which has roaming agreements with most continental European carriers. The currency is the Escudo but the Euro is widely accepted as are Visa and MasterCard are accepted in almost all bank and hotels.
